A Mountain Stream In HDR

Adobe software just came out with Lightroom 6.0. It includes an exciting new feature, HDR Raw.  This allows me to combine multiple raw images into an HDR (High Dynamic Range) image without using Photoshop, Photomatix, or other software, losing the flexibility of working in a raw image.  Above is my first effort using this software.  I’m kind of psyched!

Below are the three images I combined to make the one above.

3rd Friday Street Fair – Safety Harbor, Florida

On the 3rd Friday on the month, the Sheriff’s Deputies block off the first six blocks of Main Street about 4 P M for this community event.  You’ll find everything from street musicians to the Golden Retriever Rescue Society.  There’s all manner of food and drink vendors, civic clubs, and various entrepreneurs. The local restaurants put out sidewalk tables and a good time is had by all.  Click on any image for an enlargement.

3rd Friday is a favorite spot for teens.

She told me the Italian Ice business was slow that evening.

Sipping your drink or snacking from the many offerings is a favorite pastime while strolling Main Street.

I’m hungry, Honey. What do you say we eat first and shop later?

The musicians of the week warming up in the park Gazebo.

Third Friday is a good event for families.
During my two hours at the Festival, these guys had this table staked out the whole time. Poodle-man told me he didn’t ride motorcycles and his dog’s eyes were healthy. The goggles are to protect his pampered pup from UV trays. I love these guys!

Gator Chases Small Dog

A little compositing fun.  The alligator shot was public domain.  I took the picture of my little Maltese in a ‘gator free’ dog park.  I used Topaz Labs masking software, Adobe Photoshop CC 2014.

Old man in a coffee shop

A child of the Manitoba prairies, Jeff led a remarkable life as an educator, industrialist, and Christian worker.  He and his wife split a bagel to go with their coffee.  Now Jeff is not some sort of cheapskate, mind you.  He is merely Dutch.

The most mundane locations can become interesting after dark.  I  captured these shots near my home in Tampa Bay. All the images were created with a Sony NEX-6 camera using the stock 16-50 kit lens.  Please click and view the enlarged versions.

This is a great park with wonderful walking trails, beautiful grounds, eco-boat tours, and the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant. The restaurant, pictured here, features built-in griddles on the tables so you can make your own pancakes.  Park Website Link
