The Anhinga or “Snake Bird” lives all over the world in tropical climates. It swims with only its very long neck above water, resembling a snake about to strike. Like other birds in the darter family, the Anhinga hunts by spearing fish and other small prey using its sharp, slender beak.

I caught this guy up a tree in Anderson Park, drying off his feathers.
